Grow Your Own Grocery Veggies

Here is a simple and fun way to grow your own veggies AND reduce your food waste:

1) Cut off the bottom 1-inch of carrot, beets, romaine lettuce, onions (there are several more too!)

2) Place cut-side down in soil, and cover with 1-2 inches of soil. (a small plate of freshly changed water will work also)

3) Keep soil damp, and within two weeks, you will start to see new leaves growing from the pieces of food you would normally throw out!

Now, keep in mind, these plants have already completed a full growing cycle. So, eventhough they may get a re-start in your garden, the carrots will probably not produce again. There are some excellent recipes that use carrot green tops!! Stay tuned...
